The GATE 2026 exam date will be changed. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has announced that the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026, previously scheduled for February 8th, will be rescheduled to avoid a potential conflict with the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) ESE exam.

The GATE 2026 exam was originally scheduled for February 7th, 8th, 14th, and 15th. According to media reports, the February 8th exam may now be held on February 6th or 16th. The revised schedule will be released soon on the official website. The exam will be conducted in two shifts daily.

The first shift will be from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and the second shift will be from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. According to the official notification issued by IIT Guwahati, the GATE 2026 result will be declared on March 19th.

When is the UPSC ESE exam?
According to an official notice, the GATE 2026 committee is aware of a potential scheduling conflict with the UPSC ESE 2026, scheduled for February 8, 2026, as per the UPSC's annual calendar.
