How to get an appointment from home: Step-by-step process

All you have to do is book an appointment to go to the Aadhaar service center from home. This will give you the time and date of your convenience and your work will be done directly at the counter.

Step 1:

First of all open the official website of UIDAI on your phone or laptop. Search myAadhaar on Google or go directly to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.

Step 2:

On the homepage of the website, you will see an option of "Book an Appointment" in the "Get Aadhaar" section. Click on it.

Step 3:

Now a new page will open in front of you. Here you have to select the name of your city. Select your city and click on "Proceed to Book Appointment".

Step 4:

On the next page you have to select the option of "Aadhaar Update". Enter your mobile number here on which you want to get appointment information (this can be any of your current numbers, it is not necessary that it is the one you want to link). After this, enter the captcha code and click on "Generate OTP".

Step 5:

An OTP will come on the number given by you, enter it and click on "Verify OTP".

Step 6:

Now you will be asked for your Aadhaar details. Fill in your Aadhaar number and the name written on the Aadhaar correctly. After this, tick the option of "Mobile Number" in the "What do you want to update?" section and click on "Proceed".

Step 7:

Now the calendar for booking an appointment will open in front of you. Here you can choose the date and time of your choice. The slots that appear in green are vacant. Choose your preferred slot.

Step 8:

As soon as you confirm the slot, your appointment slip will be generated. You can download it or take a screenshot of it. This slip will contain the date, time and address of your appointment center.

This work has to be done at the Aadhaar center

Now you have to go to that Aadhaar Seva Kendra on your booked date and time. Show your appointment slip there. You will be sent directly to the counter where the update work is done. After this, he will scan your fingerprints and iris (biometric). You will have to pay a fee of ₹ 50 for this work. Make sure to take its receipt. You will be given a slip with an update request number (URN). Your work is over! This whole process will not take more than 5 to 10 minutes.

How to check the status?

With the slip with the URN number you have received, you can check the status of your update online after coming home. Usually within 24 to 72 hours your new mobile number gets linked to Aadhaar.
