Consumers in India paid 60% more on average to buy smartphones in 2024 than they did in 2020 as preferences shifted towards higher price segments even as the cost of device production increased steadily during this period. The smartphone market landscape, as a result, has changed from being heavily dominated by China in 2020 to iPhones featuring in the top five selling models in 2024.
