Bijnor (Uttar Pradesh), April 30: In a shocking incident which took place in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor, a mobile shop owner was robbed of Rs 50,000 in broad daylight on Wednesday (April 30). The robber put chilli powder in the eyes of the owner of the mobile shop and fled away with the cash. The incident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen in the video that the robber is running away with the cash and the shop keeper is chasing him.
The robbery occurred at the mobile shop of a man identified as Suhail in Bijnor. The incident occurred when a man entered Suhail’s mobile shop pretending to be a regular customer. According to reports, the man first asked Suhail to recharge his mobile phone for ₹19. He was wearing a mask during the entire incident. A few minutes later, he requested another recharge for ₹29. While Suhail was busy with the recharges, the man took out red chilli powder hidden in his jacket.

Suddenly, he threw the chilli powder into Suhail’s eyes, causing intense pain and blinding him temporarily. Taking advantage of the confusion, the man quickly grabbed ₹50,000 from the drawer and ran away. Suhail tried to grab his hand while he was snatching the money. However, he got ₹50,000 in his hand and started running out of the store.
Suhail tried to catch the man but couldn’t see properly because of the burning sensation in his eyes. He chased the thief, however, he was unable to catch him. He shouted for help and nearby people rushed towards him. They helped wash Suhail’s eyes and informed the police.
Police officers reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter. The incident was caught on the CCTV cameras installed in the store. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. The CCTV footage from the area is being checked to identify the robber. A case has been registered and efforts are on to catch the accused as soon as possible.
