Every week, BBC Breakfast audiences are accustomed to watching Jon Kay present the latest news stories with his regular presenting partner, Sally Nugent.
Throughout the show, which recently confirmed the comeback of a cherished soap opera, the hosts frequently conduct interviews with various famous faces on the well-known red sofa.
Among these guests was Australian performer Alan Fletcher, who featured on the BBC programme this week for a discussion with Jon and his co-presenter Sarah Campbell.

Nevertheless, it appears this wasn't the initial encounter between the actor, famous for portraying Dr. Karl Kennedy in Neighbours, and Jon Kay.
Posting on Instagram, the BBC presenter uploaded a nostalgic photograph of himself with Alan, which was taken three decades ago, reports the Express.
The initial picture displays a youthful Jon minus his spectacles, beaming at the camera beside Jackie Woodburne, who portrayed Susan Kennedy, whilst Alan stands on her opposite side.
A subsequent image revealed a close-up of the performer from his BBC Breakfast appearance, with the final shot showing Jon, Alan and Sarah during their Wednesday morning interview.
He wrote alongside the pictures: "Thirty years between these photos! ! The first is from the mid-nineties when I was backpacking round Australia and bumped into the Kennedys from Neighbours - actors Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodburne.
"(I say "bumped into" - actually, we deliberately hung around outside the set in Melbourne for hours hoping to see them! Neighbours was MASSIVE at the time)
"And then, this week Alan Fletcher (Dr Karl) came into BBC Breakfast to talk about his music career and his tour of the UK. Still a lovely chap. Good to see you again @alanfletcher - you've aged much better than me!!!"
It didn't take long for people to comment on the post, with many taken aback by Jon's appearance.
One individual remarked: "Wow doesn't even look like you Jon,fab reunion though." Another penned: "This is iconic!"
Another person commented: "Hard to believe that was you, you've really come into your own. I would never have guessed that was you, Jon." While one fan shared: "LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS"
Another chimed in: "This is amazing!" As one follower expressed their shock: "THIRTY!!?? What were you ...5?! ...with early onset stubble?"
