In a candid admission to the hosts, she said of her departure: "It meant a lot, it's respite, it's a holiday from having to think about cancer because with the team and my team in the States, they'd cleared everything so I didn't have to think of the next scan. Everything was cleared and I could be like a child again and yes, I did talk about cancer.
"I had to, why I've got my own bedroom and things like that. It is part of my life, as it is for 3.4 million Brits, so it was just a break from having to think about it. Heavy subjects came up now and again but it was just a break."
