Donald Trumphas been accused of having dementia as his growing rollout of National Guard troops to several Democratic cities is slammed.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker claimed the US President deploying troops to Chicago and Portland was a sign of deteriorating mental health. The Democratic Governor, while scathing Trump's controversial plans, said: "This is a man who’s suffering dementia." Tensions between the President, 79, and Illinois' governor hit a high when National Guard troops from Texaswere being assembled in a rural suburb of Chicago.
The President claimed he is sending the military into cities overrun by crime but critics have pointed out he has only targeted Democrat areas.

Around 200 Texas National Guard soldiers and 300 Illinois National Guard have been mobilised in Chicago but Pritzker described the move as an "invasion".
Questioning Trump's mental capabilities, Illinois' Governor, speaking to the Chicago Tribune, said: "This is a man who has something stuck in his head. He can’t get it out of his head. He doesn’t read. He doesn’t know anything that’s up to date.
"It's just something in the recesses of his brain that is effectuating to have him call out these cities. And then, unfortunately, he has the power of the military, the power of the federal government to do his bidding, and that’s what he's doing."
This bold escalation of federal law enforcement in Illinois follows similar crackdowns in other parts of the US, including Baltimore and Memphis.
Trump deployed the National Guard to Los Angeles over the summer after his initial soldier takeover in Washington DC.
This has not been the first time concerns have been sparked about the 79-year-old President's health. Conspiracy theories flew when Trump briefly disappeared from the public eye this summer, with some people even claiming he had dead.
A few days after his return to the public, people pointed out what appeared to be makeup on the back of his hands - thought to be used to conceal his bruising.
In July, the White House confirmed Trump was suffering from a chronic venous insufficiency. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt then claimed Trump's bruised hand was consistent with "tissue damage from frequent handshaking" while taking aspirin, which she said is "part of a standard cardio-vascular prevention regimen".
