A travel expert has revealed everything Brit need to in after attending one of the demonstrations alongside thousands of locals earlier this month.
Alex runs the Mallorca Under The Sun channel on , and also has a where she shares guides, news and important tips for tourists. She recently shared a video titled 'What Tourists MUST Know About the Mallorca Protests in 2025', in which she visited the and got chatting to the people there. She insisted: "This is not an , but a protest about the crisis which I'm guessing you're facing in your own home country." Alex also noted how the action was "not taking place in any of the holiday resorts". She added: "This is an organised peaceful protest."
The first protestor Alex spoke to emphasised the need for "balance" on the island. He said: "Obviously this is a very nice island, everybody should be able to enjoy it to an extent, but there are limits at the end of the day.

"It's about finding the balance I think and right now it's completely out of control - those who can buy houses they can, but [the rest of us] we have to go, we can't live here."
Alex also highlighted many of the banners on display, translating them for her viewers. They included slogans such as "to have a house isn't a luxury, it's a right", "people have a right to dignity, they've got a right to live", "your luxury our misery [in English]", and "Mallorca is not for sale".

Alex noted: "So we're not seeing so many banners here in English, like I said this is an anti-government protest, everything is either in Mallorquí or Spanish. These banners are not targeted to the tourists coming over here on holiday, not from what I can see."
She went on to speak to another protestor who insisted Mallorquins "love tourism", and that tourists "help the economy". However, she said it needed to be "respectful".
The protestor added: "Everyday Mallorca is becoming more expensive, people cannot live, they cannot buy a house, they cannot stay here where they come from. So we are fighting today against the price increases and the people that are coming here to buy the houses and increasing the prices."
And concluding her video, Alex was keen to emphasise how these protests should not impact you if you have trips to the island booked for this summer. She said: "I hope you understand too that this is not going to affect your holiday, coming over to the resorts this summer. This is an ongoing island issue, an ongoing issue in Spain, for the lack of affordable housing.
