Jadon Sancho’s huge pay packet is putting a Manchester United escape in danger. The winger has little future at Old Trafford after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim.
He was expected to complete a £25m move to Chelsea following his loan spell last season but the Blues backed out of that agreement. Italian giants Roma had emerged as suitors over recent days.
As per reports in Italy, the Serie A side have agreed a €23million (£19.8m) deal for Sancho and while United are happy with that fee, Sancho’s own demands are holding up a deal, as per Mail Online.
The former Borussia Dortmund man banks around £250k per week at Old Trafford, which sees him earn around £13m per year. Roma are not willing to pay that amount, hence the reason for the hold up.
They have been attempting to convince Sancho to sign a five-year deal at the Stadio Olimpico to spread out that amount, but he is yet to agree to those terms at the time of writing.

Speaking out recently, Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini has urged more additions but admitted that the club are limited by financial constraints. He said: “This is a team that has quality and we must try to improve it along with the club. There is great clarity with the club and we share ideas on what needs to be done.
“We’ll see what happens over the next two weeks. Koné is undoubtedly a very good player, it would be a loss. We must see what we can do from now to the end of the transfer session, because everyone knows the Financial Fair Play situation.”
He added: “We’ve not had anything new coming in for three weeks now. If possible, we should get some new players without losing them.

“I have been very clear with the club on what needs to be done. Now we just hope that we can do it.”
Away from Roma, Besiktas have also been linked with a swoop for Sancho. And club president Serdal Adali has admitted that he is keen to get a deal done before next month’s deadline.
“Just as much as the community wants him, I want him too,” he told Turkiye Today. “What matters is not only our desire, but also if the player wants to come to Turkey. We have a budget, and we will do our best to bring him here.
“Players like Jadon Sancho usually prefer clubs playing in the Champions League. Whether it happens today or not, it is hard to say. If it is possible, we will get him. Besiktas fans can rest assured.”
