Who is Tanner Smith?Tanner's family has previously shared that Tanner was diagnosed with autism at just two and a half years old, and his mother has spoken about the challenges he faced in his early years, reports .
She recalled that Tanner struggled to make eye contact with his teachers and often felt overwhelmed in public.
However, as Tanner has grown, his progress has been nothing short of remarkable. His mother recently shared with Today: "If you had told me when Tanner was a little boy that he would be doing now what he's doing now, he's a freaking miracle."
And as Tanner continues to capture the hearts of audiences on Love on the Spectrum, it's clear that his miracle story is only just beginning. Before his appearance in season two, Tanner described himself as "a kind young man who spreads joy all around the ."
He's employed at a local hotel in his hometown, working alongside his younger sister and taking pleasure in greeting guests. Before joining the show, he had never been on a date.
In the time between seasons, Tanner has fully embraced his newfound celebrity status. As reported by Netflix's Tudum website, he's been travelling, engaging in public speaking, and creating content for social media. He's also celebrated his sister's wedding and moved into a new place.
Meeting Jack BlackTanner's promotional efforts for the Netflix series have included numerous media appearances, but none quite as unforgettable as his visit to The Kelly Clarkson Show. Tanner is a well-known admirer of actor Jack Black, who had previously sent him a video message expressing gratitude for his support and promising a future meeting.
The moment of truth came during his chat with Kelly Clarkson. The host teased another recorded message from the actor, only for the star of A Minecraft Movie to surprise Tanner by walking in live.
The encounter was deeply touching, with Tanner embracing his hero and exclaiming: "Jack it's you! Jack I'm so excited to meet you Jack. Jack, Jack, I'm so glad I get to finally meet you."
In another chance encounter, Tanner met Mark Wahlberg while at work, as the actor visited Clemson where his daughter is enrolled at the university.
While Tanner went on a blind date with Shyann and later connected with Callie in the third season, he's said to be still on the singles market even though they're pretty chummy. They've stayed mates, with Callie popping over to see Tanner in Clemson – they even chucked a video up online about it.
Callie spilled the beans on their status post-filming, saying: "The update is that we are hanging out and we are enjoying it and we love ourselves and we love hanging out together. He is just the sweetest guy I ever met in my whole life."
However, Tanner's still got his eye out for 'the one'. In a chinwag with the local telly folk, he confessed he's after a lass who's "beautiful," has "pretty eyes," and shares his Christian faith.
