For the first time in history, the Golden Buzzer was pressed during the live semi-final, sending one act straight through to the grand final next month.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that the Golden Buzzer, which had previously only been used during the audition rounds, w. Each week, one act will be sent straight through to the final with another gaining their place via the public vote.
During the first semi-final tonight, it was Amanda Holden who had the opportunity to press the all important buzzer, sending LED dance and illusion act The Blackouts straight through to the final.

The dance group from Switzerland once again got the party going with their dance routine featuring their LED outfits and blackout staging - as the audience were on their feet dancing along.
After their show stopping performance, the judges were blown away as Amanda said: "Your audition took our breath away and this evening, it was even better," as the audience couldn't stop cheering.
Alesha Dixon called the performance "outstanding" before chosen judge Amanda slammed the Golden Buzzer - sending them straight through to the finals.
"I cannot wait to see what you do in the final," Amanda exclaimed, as she joined them to celebrate on stage.
"Thank you so much, it's unbelievable, I'm speechless, thank you so much. Oh my gosh, it's so crazy, thank you so much!" the overwhelmed act could be heard saying on stage after securing their place in the final.
Fans were overjoyed with the decision, as they took to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their thoughts. One fan penned: "I don't normally like these dance-'n'-glow in the dark acts, but these LED dancers The Blackouts DESERVE that golden buzzer, and Elton John would love them "
Another wrote: "Absolutely deserved! 100% the best dance act since Diversity! I truly hope they go on and win the whole show!"
Announcing the exciting changes to the Golden Buzzer rules on earlier this month, said: "For the first time in BGT history, the buzzer will now appear during the live rounds. It has already been pressed eight times this series."
added: "In each semi-final, either one of the judges or Ant and Dec will be given control of the golden buzzer, and as soon as they see a performance worthy of a place in the final, they will have just one opportunity to press it."
That act will be granted a one-way ticket to the final, along with one other act from that night who will be voted in by the public."
