A Wednesday boss has admitted that Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair’s iconic stained glass window had been temporarily lost in Romania.

Netflix ’s Addams Family spin-off has returned for its second outing with part two now ready to watch after its release today, Wednesday, 3rd September.

Since the beginning of the dark comedy, subscribers have loved the unconventional friendship between the bubbly Enid Sinclair (played by Emma Myers) and the morbidly twisted Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega).

Their quirky dynamic is best presented by their shared dormitory and the stained glass window with one half a simple black web, and the other filled with colour.

But the creators were so adamant that they weren’t going to get a second series that they threw the window away prior to the season two renewal.

What made things even more complicated though was the fact that while the first series was shot in Romania, season two was filmed in Ireland.

Opening up to Screen Time, production designer Mark Scruton explained: “The stained glass window from Wednesday’s dormitory was still lost in Romania when we came back for season two.

“I had to do a lot of phone calls and hunting around to actually find out where that was and it did still exist.

“Because we wasn’t sure if it still existed because the set had been scrapped.

“But the window still existed in a warehouse so we shipped it back so the window is the original one from Romania.”

Scruton also spoke about the process of filming in Ireland in comparison to Romania for the first season, having to once again create Nevermore Academy’s look.

He commented: “It was interesting because we spent a long time deciding where we were going to base ourselves for season two.

“We’d been here and there, a bit like season one, around different areas but Ireland was the frontrunner. I spent a long time scouting Ireland before we made the final choice.

“Romania had given us a look that we had to follow through with, we couldn’t just abandon that and do something different, which we found.

“And once we discovered various locations that we knew were going to do it and various places we knew were going to fit Vermont, we had to build a lot of the stuff that were locations before and to copy sets that had been built and long destroyed.

“So it was a very different lead in, into shooting.”

Wednesday is available to watch on Netflix.
