Arsenal have received some positive news regarding injuries, with Gabriel Jesus accelerating his comeback from the serious knee problem he suffered at the beginning of the year.
Jesus, 28, underwent ACL surgery following an injury sustained during Arsenal's FA Cup third round defeat to Manchester United in January. The striker has remained out of action ever since, prompting the Gunners to secure attacking reinforcements this summer in preparation for the 2025-26 season.
Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze have all been recruited to provide Arsenal with additional attacking threat in their quest to secure a maiden Premier League crown in over two decades.
They will eventually be accompanied by Jesus, who posted footage of himself returning to grass training via social media on Sunday evening. He posted: "It's been seven months of pain, uncertainty, and anxiety. Today, I finally feel light - like a child playing football again. GOD IS GREAT."
Jesus netted seven goals across 27 outings last season before injury curtailed his campaign early, and his return to training concludes an encouraging weekend for Mikel Arteta, who witnessed Eze's presentation as Arsenal's latest acquisition before his squad demolished Leeds United 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
However, the victory was marred somewhat by knocks to Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka, with both players forced off the pitch after sustaining injuries ahead of the blockbuster clash with Liverpool this Sunday.
According to BBC Sport, Saka will be ruled out for three to four weeks through a hamstring problem, though that may be one of the best possible outcomes given the initial fears of a significant problem.
Odegaard suffered a shoulder injury against Leeds and is also a doubt, though there are hopes that he may recover in time to feature at Anfield.
