I watched Apple's best new show, and one thing ruined the series for me

Upon floods and floods of recommendations, I watched Severance on Apple TV. All I heard was good things, my husband was keen to give it a go too so we settled down to watch that for a while.

Personally I found that it started off slow and I was constantly reminded that I needed to FOCUS on it and not mindlessly scroll while watching it in the background. It's a show that requires brain power, I can tell you that.

But anyway, I decided to focus on the show and yes, I got really into it. Is it confusing? Absolutely, but is it good? Oh 100%.

The first season finale saw everything go a little crazy, so when that aired I was so excited to start season 2. It ended on an absolute high, so I was hoping it would start on one.

Sadly, I was disappointed. One thing I hate is when a series hits a high and then goes right back to the beginning again, like it never happened. And that's what happened with season 2, it felt like we had started at the beginning again.

So, once again, I was waiting for the momentum to build up to get to the finale... again... and see if that was any better.

I can only describe what I watched as watching a fire grow from a small flame into a bonfire only to have a bucket of water come and immediately put it out in seconds. I was on the edge of my seat, every second it was "I can't believe that!" "Yes! Let's go!" Only to quickly turn into: "What is he doing?" "Is he stupid?" "No! What was that!"

If you haven't watched, don't read this next bit, but we had found out that Mark's wife, who he believed had died and that was the reason he even agreed to be severed, was still alive and was at the heart of experiments at Lumon.

As he finally got her free, they were about to run off when he hit the severed floor, and his innie decided to go back to Helly's innie instead of running to be with his wife in the actual real world. Think it sounds insane? It's because it is.

At the time of watching it I remember turning it off and thinking, I am not wasting my time with that ever again, but there's a third season coming out. Can I put myself through it? What on earth is going to happen? I feel like I'll be roped back in from the start again for another chaotic final.

But I'm not the only one who is feeling this way...

I really resonated with one person on Reddit, who wrote: "The last minute of this finale left me and my partner so f***ing mad, total garbage nonsense decision making that doesn't align with the characters motivations built over two seasons just to have a twist ending to setup another season."

Another shared their fear that season 3 wouldn't "live up to" the previous seasons, but it is confirmed to be coming -- though the release date is yet to be announced.
