defender has indirectly told that he's ready to fill the void left behind by ill-timed injury. The Portuguese right-back's availability has been one of his best traits in recent years, but he looks set to miss the remainder of the season after picking up a calf problem.
On Friday, Amorim , which leaves him with a dilemma to fill the right-wing-back position over the final few weeks of the campaign. Patrick Dorgu played on the right as Dalot rested against Wolves last time out, allowing Harry Amass to make his first Old Trafford start on the opposite flank. Amad is also closing in on a return from his three-month injury absence, but Mazraoui has, too, operated in the position.
Ahead of Dorgu's January arrival, Amorim commonly used Dalot on the left and the Moroccan on the right to mixed success.
Mazraoui has limitations in the final third and looks more suited to the right-centre-back position, with which he agrees.
However, the 27-year-old has made it clear he is keen to test himself in a more attacking role if an opportunity to do so arises.
Ahead of Sunday's Premier League trip to Bournemouth, Mazraoui said: "I think I have great qualities in defence, as well as in attack.
"So I think right centre-back suits me at this moment really well. But I like to play wing-back from time to time, just to really attack, you know."
Leny Yoro is another player who has impressed as part of Amorim's back three since he tweaked the system upon his November arrival.
The 19-year-old is settling in Manchester and has flaunted capabilities to feature on either side of the defence at a high level.
Before the trip to the Vitality Stadium, Mazraoui singled out the teenage talent for praise when explaining how United's players are adapting to Amorim's demands.
"Yes [we are adapting]. I think a big example of that is Leny [Yoro]. How he started off as this left centre-back and how he is doing now," Mazraoui hailed.
"He has really improved. The way he is taking the ball, he is carrying the ball a lot more, it's a little bit where we want to go and end eventually."
Mazraoui's future at Old Trafford likely lies in the back three rather than as one of Amorim's wing-backs.
However, he could get his chance to shine in a more advanced role before the season comes to a close if Dalot remains absent.
