Three years ago, ITV viewers were gripped by Vicky McClure's high-stakes drama series Trigger Point. The show follows Lana Washington, played by Vicky, and her bomb-disposal team. Since its release, Trigger Point has grown in popularity, with the second series being the most-watched drama on ITV1 last year. On average, it gained 8.1million viewers and 30 million streams on ITVX. This month, Lana and the team are back once again to put themselves at risk to protect the city from harm.
From October 26, people will be treated to six new episodes of the nail-biting show when the team gets involved with one person demanding revenge and has a sinister vendetta, targeting individuals. With ITV giving people a glimpse at what's to come in a thrilling teaser trailer, Lana is back in action once again, although it looks as though her past is catching up to her.
Ahead of the new series, actress Vicky McClure spoke to Reachplc as she revealed Lana is struggling to cope in the upcoming episode.
When asked if everything she's been through during the previous seasons will now catch up with her, the actress said: "Yeah, I think when we first started talking about series three, we were all very aware that we wanted to touch on PTSD for sure, how that was for Lana.
"It's so unique to everybody, so trying to capture what it meant to Lana, and we all know that she's lost a lot of people close to her throughout the series so far, there's no way that that's not going to have an effect on her."
Vicky explained that although sometimes the show can be outside of the scales of reality, she wanted to ensure Lana's emotional plot was as realistic as they could make it.

She added: "We'll see Lana going through an addiction, while she's working abnd how she handles that and who is picking up on it.
"The reality of how you self-medicate, I guess. She makes a lot of mistakes, that's the downfall of being the heroic character.
"You think you can do it all, and you think you're fully capable, and you think you're in control, and she's not all the time.
"We've learnt that before, but I think these last couple of series, it's been nice because Lana is having to lean more on other people."
However, viewers can expect gripping scenes ahead as the actress teased that there are some incredible new additions joining the cast this series.
She added: "I think you're going to really enjoy their performances. The team is back, we're more connected than ever, the explosive moments are coming thick and fast. You'll see me running a lot, which is rare.
"I just know that people are going to go, 'wow'. I mean, even from the trailer that we've put out. I'm really happy to brag about it, which is a rarity."
Trigger Point Season 3 premieres Sunday, 26th October 2025 at 9pm on ITV1 and STV, with the full series available to stream on ITVX and STV Player.
