Raipur: The 2,621 terminated BEd trained assistant teachers have conditionally suspended their 126-day-long demonstration, which included dharnas and rallies, following a meeting with and subsequent assurance from Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
A delegation of the B.Ed. trained assistant teachers met with the Chief Minister in Naya Raipur to discuss their ongoing peaceful protest for service security and regularisation.
The CM listened to the delegation and assured them of prompt and positive action towards the regularisation of the BEd trained assistant teachers. Following this assurance, the teachers decided to conditionally suspend their agitation.
Sources indicate that a consensus was reached on certain demands of the BEd trained assistant teachers. The state govt committee, headed by the chief secretary, has reportedly submitted a report to the chief minister's office recommending the adjustment of these teachers. Implementation of the chief secretary's report is expected soon, according to sources.
The committee has reportedly recommended the regularisation of B.Ed. trained teachers to the post of assistant teacher (Laboratory), and the regularisation process is expected to commence at the earliest, sources said.
Sources further added that the report was intended to be tabled in the cabinet but was delayed due to a technicality. It is now expected to be presented in the next cabinet meeting for approval.
"We, the assistant teachers, once again appeal to the chief minister and his cabinet to promptly initiate action concerning our service, security, and regularisation, so that we can once again contribute wholeheartedly to the field of education," the teachers said.
Having faith in democratic principles, we have peacefully conveyed our demands to the govt over the past four months. We are fully confident that the welfare-oriented govt of Chhattisgarh will soon take a decision on this matter and provide relief to thousands of trained assistant teachers and their families, the teachers added.
