NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday laid the foundation stone for several development projects worth around Rs 2,200 crore during his visit to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi.
The projects span various sectors including infrastructure, education, healthcare, tourism, urban development, and cultural heritage.
He laid the foundation stone for several initiatives under the Smart Distribution Project , including the undergrounding of electrical infrastructure.
To preserve culturally significant water bodies, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for water purification and maintenance works at various Kunds.
Additionally, he released the 20th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme , transferring more than Rs 20,500 crore to over 9.7 crore farmers across the country.
