In a bizarre incident, a female passenger of a Southwest Airlines flight took her clothes off and pooped on her seat, prompting the airlines authorities to call the police as the flight landed in Chicago. According to a statement from Southwest Airlines, flight 418 from Philadelphia to Chicago's Midway Airport was met by law enforcement and medical personnel who responded to "a situation involving a customer."
"Our Teams are reaching out to those onboard to apologize for the situation and any delays to their travel plans," the airline said in a statement to NBC New York. "Nothing is more important to Southwest than the safety of our customers and employees, and we appreciate the professionalism of our flight crew."
While the plane was grounded and taken out of service for cleaning, it was not clear what happened to the passenger.
Southwest Airlines recently encountered a similar incident of a passenger stripping and shouting on a Phoenix-bound plane. The incident took place in March on a flight from Houston to Phoenix. Two passengers told 12News the aircraft had just started taxiing when the woman, while fully clothed, walked to the front of the plane and started yelling. The woman apparently wanted to get off the flight. She started screaming and jumping. As the plane continued to move, she started to undress herself.
People on the flight said they tried to remain calm and not pay attention to what was happening. Then at one point during the incident, one passenger said the naked woman went after a flight attendant, rubbing her naked body all over the flight attendant. The aircraft then returned back to the gate. When the door opened, another airline worker boarded the plane and covered the woman with a blanket. The flight was delayed for just more than an hour before it was able to take off for Phoenix.
