Israeli air strike kills at least 22 across Gaza strip in intensive move

At least 22 people were killed in Israeli air strikes on Monday across the Gaza strip , as per the local rescue officials, as the Israeli military pressed forward with its intensified move in the region.

The heaviest bombardments struck in and around the southern city of Khan Yunis , where 11 people were reported killed and several more wounded, said Mahmud Bassal, spokesperson for the civil defence agency .

Another person was reported dead in nearby Abasan.

In the north, five people lost their lives in an air strike near a market west of Jabaliya. Central Gaza was also hit, with three members of the same family killed when their tent was struck in Nuseirat. Two more people were killed in a separate strike on a tent in Gaza City.

Bassal said there were reports of casualties at the Indonesian hospital in Beit Lahia, but ongoing shelling has made it impossible for rescuers to recover the bodies.

The health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza accused the Israeli military of surrounding the hospital, effectively rendering it non-operational.

The Israeli military confirmed Monday it was continuing its newly expanded operations, stating it was "operating throughout the Gaza Strip."

The latest casualties come amid escalating violence and a deepening humanitarian crisis in the enclave, where access to medical care and essential services remains critically limited.
