Cities including Bhopal, Itarsi, Chhindwara, and Seoni witnessed strong winds, lightning, and heavy downpours, disrupting daily life and offering a brief reprieve from the heatwave-like conditions earlier in the week.

The stormy weather is part of a larger weather system currently impacting large parts of north and central India.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe weather warning for 25 states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh, forecasting strong thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and gusty winds up to 70 km/h. Hailstorms are likely in eastern Rajasthan, Bihar, and parts of eastern Madhya Pradesh.
